Francesca Anichini in conversation with Alessandro Vanoli at the Sabir Festival in Palermo

On Thursday, 23 October, Francesca Anichini will talk about her research conducted in Lampedusa on the material traces of contemporary migration at ‘Lezioni Mediterranee’ (Mediterranean Lessons), an event of the Sabir Festival hosted by Alessandro Vanoli [https://www.instagram.com/alessandro_vanoli_/].
Sabir, the common language of Mediterranean sailors until the beginning of the last century, today recalls the need to rebuild a common language, starting with civil society. The Sabir Festival – Festival of Mediterranean Civil Society – is an international event full of guests, meetings, debates and artistic events, giving a voice to Mediterranean realities ‘that do not want to give in to deaths at the border and the criminalisation of people on the move and of solidarity’.
Organised by ARCI in collaboration with A Buon Diritto, Acli, Altreconomia, ARCS, ASGI, Caritas, Carta di Roma, CGIL, UCCA, Unire. More information on the website: https://www.festivalsabir.it/
