Presentation of the volume ArcheoLogica Data 5.1 at the Department of Ancient and Modern Civilizations, University of Messina
As part of the PhD Seminar in Humanities of DICAM, dedicated to the publication of ArcheoLogica Data 5.1 (“Landscape Archaeology, Preventive Archaeology and Territorial Planning in Central Sicily: Research and Heritage Protection Activities of the Superintendency of Enna”, edited by Francesca Valbruzzi), Gabriele Gattiglia guided the audience through the open archaeology ecosystem developed by the MAPPALab. From the open data of the MOD repository to Open Access publishing through ALD journal, and on to the Open Science opportunities offered by the MAGOH portal, the event provided an opportunity to illustrate how digital tools, practices and infrastructures can transform archaeological research into a more accessible, transparent and collaborative process, capable of connecting heritage protection, territorial planning and the collaborative production of knowledge.
