What can archaeology tell us about today’s migrations?

On September 12 at 9:00 p.m., Francesca Anichini will be at Immagimondo to address this question and present her book “Tracce in movimento. Archeologia delle migrazioni contemporanee a Lampedusa” (Traces in Motion. Archaeology of Contemporary Migrations in Lampedusa). Between 2020 and 2024, also through various laboratory projects, more than three thousand everyday objects were collected on the beaches of Lampedusa: bottles, shoes, clothes, medicine packages… all gathered and studied from an archaeological perspective that seeks to capture traces of ourselves in the objects we leave behind.
