The special project for teaching “Resurgences: exploring the ecologies of abandonment ” has started. The project aims to introduce students to the diachronic study of the abandoned landscapes of the mountain area of Versilia, exploring the places of “resurgence”: the multi-species responses to the abandonment of pastures, forests, cultivated areas and quarries.
“Resurgences” is an interdisciplinary project involving archaeology, environmental sciences and anthropology. The activities will take place during the first semester of the A.Y. 2022-2023 and will consist of a campaign of archaeological-environmental survey in the mountain area of Versilia e an ethnographic data collection.
